"Bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will, to be rightful, must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal laws must protect, and to violate would be oppression." - Thomas Jefferson, 1st Inaugural address, 1801

You're so pretty when you cry.

There is something wholly satisfying in watching the Republican Neo-Con Bush Empire crumble out of sheer hubris. Perhaps it's only akin to watching a much-hated rival slowly succumb to flesh eating bacteria when you know that you've got the little beasties crawling all over you as well, but it still carries the same sort of satisfaction you can only find in an end-of-the-evening hurl after a night of binge drinking or scratching a horrible case of athlete's foot.

People are calling into the Rush Limbaugh show to say things like, "(Bush and the GOP)...they don't seem to care about their base...we fought hard to get a Republican majority...I am so dismayed." These aren't liberal whackos, but conservative Republicans who are finally figuring out that Bush doesn't give a damn about them and hasn't since he steamrolled his way to power in 2000.

Furthermore, I can now indulge my Totally-Crushed-Out statuse with Michelle Malkin a bit longer as she runs down the blogosphere's disappointment about the blatant D0rm-Room cronyism going down in the White House. "If this is President Bush's bright idea to buck up his sagging popularity--among conservatives as well as the nation at large--one wonders whom he would have picked in rosier times." Jesus, her saying that makes me HOT!

Let me dry your tears, Michelle. Just lay back, close your eyes, open your mouth and it'll all be over soon.
