"Bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will, to be rightful, must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal laws must protect, and to violate would be oppression." - Thomas Jefferson, 1st Inaugural address, 1801

He's gonna be HUGE after this.

A friend recommended the move "The End of the Spear" to me the other day and while I generally tend to shy away from films with overly explicit religious messages (pro- or con-, doesn't matter, I go to movies for escapism), I may have to see this one because it is now steeped in controversy.

Newsflash: Chad Allen is gay, open about it and playing a missionary and this apparently pisses some people off although sun still managed to somehow rise this morning.

Frankly, I've never been all that impressed with Chad Allen's acting chops and time has not been kind to him as he's aged from the irrepressable child star to the gay rights activist and actor. However, I see absolutely no reason to get all pissy because he's an actor playing a role who might not actually be the person he's portraying in real life.

The Rev. Jason Janz needs to have the word "actor" defined for him. He also needs to stop creating problems where none exist. It sickens me that Janz would actually advocate a return to McCarthy-ism by suggesting only actors who's personal politics match the person they're playing should be eligible for the role. Although I guess it would get Jim Cavawhatever more work. Not impressed with him, though, either.

Furthermore, leave it to the idiot Baptists to suggest firebombing the filmmaker's houses, although they did tone that down by saying that would "probably" be too much. Or maybe they're wanting to firebomb Chad Allen's house? Or just the houses of gay people in general.

I guess we do have terrorists in this country. Apparently, their leader is Kevin T. Bauder, president of Central Baptist Seminary.

Hope you enjoy Gitmo, you insane fuck.

Yah, I don't get it :) What exactly does he think an actor is lol. Although, I loosely use the term actor and Chad Allen in the same sentence. This movie did not look appealing to me at all so I shall be skipping it to see the Underworld sequel. Because I am shallow and would rather watch pretty people pretending to be vampires than a movie based on RL experiences :p

Jim Cavaziel... did anyone else think it was funny that he got struck by lightening not once... and I am not sure it was only twice, because I think he got struck by lightening three times while filming Passion of the Christ. I don't have much use for him either as an actor, although I do think he is handsome :) He should model instead.

Jim Cavaziel was awesome in The Count of Monte Cristo. Never speak ill of him again or I'll cut you!

Yah, I know Jim got hit at least twice by lightening. Though, really, I'm not sure what that says. Either God wanted him dead for the movie, or God was protecting him through repeated lightening strikes. I guess that't the great thing about faith, it's so very open to interpretation.

As for not speaking about Cavaziel again, pfft. I say what I likes! This is MAH house and I stand behind my comments that he is, at best, a so-so actor who plays more on his looks (and now his religion) than on any real acting ability.

How you like me now, beyotch?!?
